If the loss were not a part of life, life would become less precious.
We are confident that you will find the strength to move beyond the sadness you feel at this time.
Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of his Saints. Sleep on beloved, sleep and take your rest,
Lay your weary head upon the Saviour’s breast.
We love you, but Jesus loves you best. Goodnight, goodbye.

Olga and I are cousins and the best of friends. Olga and I have shared so many happy memories, and here are a few.
When Olga and I were, young, I told her this: “When your age is off the calendar – over 31 – that means you’re very, very old!” And we laughed and laughed. And we were young enough that we really believed that. Can you believe it?
Back home in Jamaica, Olga always came over to my house for me to sew things for her or her daughter, Jackie. One Saturday she came down for me to sew something for her or even for Jackie, like a skirt or a top.
I told her “Olga, why do you have to come every Saturday? After you shop? Way in the evening? Especially when you know you need it tomorrow!” This was something she always did.
She said; “I need it for tomorrow for church!”
As soon as she mentioned church, I had to do it for her. Once it was church, I’d let it slide. I always managed to get it done for her.
Olga was quite the driver. In Canada, I got my license first. I called her and said “Olga, I got my license.”
She said “What! I have to get mine too!” And not much longer after that, she got her license as well.
Once I went to spend three days or a week with Olga. The two of us decided to go to Sears. Olga said she could drive us. Her driving was shocking. I had to hold onto the car door because of the way she turned the corners. “Olga, you drive like this?”
“Yes! I like driving fast. Mi nuh drive slow,” Olga replied.
I was shocked. I said “Dear Lord, keep her!”
Olga never missed a single birthday for my daughter Maxine. Every time her birthday rolled around in June, Olga would mail something nice for her from Toronto to us in Mississauga. Maxine would always look forward to her birthday to see what Olga would send her.
“How does she remember?” Maxine said, amazed at her thoughtfulness. Maxine appreciated how special Olga’s kindness made her feel.
Olga touched so many lives, we love her, and she will be dearly missed.

I moved to Whitby in August 2011 and was introduced to Olga by a sister from Malvern Assemblies who had invited me to a small group session. As it would happen, after the introduction, Olga became my ride to church on Sundays. That was the start of our friendship.
Olga invited me to participate in the Tuesday morning bible study group and she and I would go down to Scarborough every week. After bible study, we would go to different dress shops to browse. These would include Jones of New York, Winners, Marshalls and Laura. We would window shop, try on different articles of clothing and when the price was right, we would buy it. If the price wasn’t right, Olga would say that is not our price. We would keep checking to see when the price would go down and when it was right, we would buy. Olga was in her element when she would visit stores. She would get a shopping cart as a support, especially when she was in pain, and she was just so happy to be there walking around.
We would speak every day on the phone discussing the Word and anything and everything. During the wintertime when the snow was heavy we would visit the Bridge on Taunton from time to time. But in 2016 when she got sick we started going to the Bridge every week. We joined their weekly bible study and prayer meeting groups as well.
One day she called and told me that the Holy Spirit witness to her saying that we should be prayer partners. We chose Thursdays as the day we would pray as the Bridge already had their prayer meetings on Wednesdays. We took the prayer requests from the bible study group and the prayer meetings and would pray over them every Thursday. We would spend as much time as we wanted to pray because we were both in our homes. We did this until she was unable to continue due to her illness.
Olga was a sister to me and my very best friend. There was nothing we didn’t talk about and at the end of every conversation she would say “Well we went all around the world. We made and break laws”. I spoke to Olga on the Friday before she passed and Jackie told me that she was smiling at what I was saying. She was unable to respond but was happy to hear my voice. When I heard from Jackie the Monday about Olga passing away, I could not believe what I was hearing. I will miss her very much.
Olga, I love you and will miss you so much but I thank God for bringing you into my life and for the time we spent. You have been a big sister to me and a very special friend. I thank God for the Godly influence you have brought into my life since I met you.
Love,
Jeanette (Johnson)

Oh, my sister-friend Olga. You have left a void in my life. I cannot
imagine my life without you being a physical part of it. You will always be in my heart and my mind. I have so many fond memories of our times together. I treasure them all.
To Michael, Ian, and Jacqueline, please accept my heartfelt sympathy.
Olga always spoke of you all with high regard. She loved her prayer and Bible study time with Michael every night, she loved her various outings with Ian and Jen to places she never knew existed in Ontario, and Jackie would make her vegetarian meals that made her not miss meat at all. Jackie was at her beck and call at home, while Michael and Ian would frequently drop in with different delicious foods. She was also very proud of her grands: Lamoya, Amber, Charles and Rhea. Oh she loved them to pieces. She was also very happy that she was blessed with two great grandchildren. Her siblings Una and Dawn were also her best friends. She spoke so highly of all her family. I admired the closeness they shared.
God needed her more in heaven and chose to take her to her eternal home. My family: Darace, Safiya, and myself will always remember the very special person she was to us, and she will forever be in our hearts and minds. This is not goodbye, it's see you later. I look forward to seeing you in the great by and by. Rest well my sister. You left a treasure trove of wisdom and Godliness to all of us who are mourning your earthly absence.

From: Carmen Aldridge I want to convey my deepest sympathy and condolences to the Peart family and to her sisters. "Peart" as I would call her. We met at the Riverdale (BridgePoint) Hospital. As nurses, we worked well together, and we eventually became close friends. We would talk for hours on the phone talking about family and work. The last time we spoke to each other, as I said, we spoke for a long time. I heard in the background, "Mom, you still on the phone?" We started to laugh. Then I said to her, "Jackie needs you. We will talk again." Today is the day you will be laid to rest, but you know what they say "God only take the best." Everything happens for a reason. Rest in Peace.
