Brenda Caesar Woodroffe, also fondly known as Mom, Mommy, Mommy Brenda, Aunty, Aunty Brenda, sister, Friend. She was born in Beterverwagting (BV), Guyana, South America to Eric Caesar and Laurna Calder and was raised by her grandparents from eight years old, after the death of her mother. Growing up as an only child, she was surrounded by many relatives and family friends who became like siblings to her. She attended Tabernacle Moravian Church and St. Mary’s Primary School. She later attended Critchlow Labor College where she graduated as an Accountant. She became the eldest of her father’s children and enjoyed having Ed, Errol,Ferry, Keith, and Ronald as her biological siblings. She spent many wonderful times in Kitty where they lived. She also had two more siblings, Eric, Jr. and Meineke who were born in England where her father had migrated. Brenda met and married Harrington Woodroffe and had two sons, Dexter and Darwin Woodroffe. She worked for Guyconstruct as a secretary, project manager, payroll officer and accountant until she migrated to Canada in 1991. She then reconnected with many of her childhood friends,in particular Joy Simon. This was not a casual connection but an expansion of her adopted family, with Dolly, Charlie, Fitzroy, Keith (deceased), Gem, Clide, Calson and Michael and their respective families. Brenda also had a very close bond with Gwendolyn Layne. Brenda was socially active especially in the Guyanese community where she was a proud supporter of the Guyana Ex Police Assn. Of Canada, the Lions Club, and the Alliance of Guyanese Canadian Organizations, to name a few. Being the go getter that she was, she studied for and became certified as a medical Asst. and worked until her retirement in 2014. She leaves to mourn her sons, Dexter and Darwin, two grandchildren including Mica Harris, and siblings, as mentioned before, her adopted sister Joy Simon, nieces and nephews. Brenda passed away on September 11, 2021, from a heart attack. May her soul Rest In Peace and Rise in Glory.
