It is with deep sadness, we announce our Mama, Margaret Mary Puddister, the
Matriarch of our family, has gained her wings and made her transition peacefully into heaven, Nov 9th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Margaret was well known as “Nana” to her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchild. and other relatives and friends.
Margaret was born in Bay Bulls, Newfoundland, on May 17th, 1938. She left Newfoundland in her early twenties and moved to Toronto to work as a Nanny for many years. She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. She loved her grandchildren and great grand child very much.
Margaret is predeceased by parents Captain John and Violet Puddister, son Jeffrey, brothers Captain Michael, Angus, Captain Ronald, sisters Winnie, Barbara and Betty. Grandchild: Dawit
Margaret is survived by her daughters Tina (Nat), Joy (Robert) and Sugar; sisters Mary, Christine, Martha and brother John; grandchildren; Julius, Belah, Charity, Faith, Jade, Josh, Tesfa, Salem and Abyssinia, and great grandchild Zyanya.
Viewing will be held at the Covenant Funeral Home (Balmoral Chapel) 2505 Eglinton Avenue East, Scarborough, ON, M1K 2R1 On Tuesday November 22 from 2- 3:30 PM. Funeral Service, to follow viewing on Tuesday November 22 from 3:30-5:00, in the Chapel.
We offer our deepest thanks to the staff at St Michael’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and compassion for caring for our mother and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made in Margaret’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Society (Toronto Chapter).
