Obituary of Festus Clinton Pereira

PEREIRA, Festus Clinton: Festus Clinton Pereira began his compassionate and gentle life on May 4th, 1941. He was the second child born to the late Carl and Mary Pereira of Airy Hall Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara Guyana. He was educated at Seaforth’s Private School and Tutorial High School after which he began his career as an electrician in Linden, Guyana. In February 1965 he migrated to Canada and married Lynette Pereira nee Fordyce, from this union came three handsome sons Wayne, Ryan and Shawn. Festus worked for the Canadian National Railway Company from 1966 to 1996 as an mechanical/car operator in the Great Lakes District. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and a great friend to many. He was a big believer in the family values and his home was a sanctuary to many. Festus is survived by his three loving sons Wayne, Ryan and Shawn Pereira. His daughter-in- law Shay Pereira. His adoring grandchildren Gavin, Jayden, Ailyah, Hailey, and Khai Pereira. His brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends. Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 20th, 2022 from 1 – 7 pm at Covenant Funeral Home at 2505 Eglinton Avenue East, Scarborough, ON M1K 2R1. All are welcome to celebrate Mr. Pereira's life on Saturday, January 21st, 2023 at Grace Life Center at 801 Progress Avenue Scarborough, ON. service at 11 am.
