My condolences to the family and friends. I remember playing mas with Arnold's band numerous times years ago. He was always very respectful no matter who he spoke to regardless of their age. Death in peace, in paradise.

Cajuca Mas Arts Producers (Jackie and Clarence Forde) posted a condolence

There are many memories of Arnold over the years. Always a gentleman and a creative force of nature. Two things stand out the most. While in Hong Kong in 2005, we were a small group, presenting costumes for the Chinese New Year (Year of the Rooster) and we all pitched in to assemble each other's big Mas. When we got to Arnolds (which is usually built entirely out of steel and like scaffolding) he could not recall how it was to be put together. I have a clear vision of Kenny Coombs climbing on top of the frame with Arnold off to the side 'guessing' what went where. He was calm and amenable while we sorted it out.
Another time, in the Trinidad Airport, we met him by the luggage carousel looking a bit lost, and asked him if he needed help finding his luggage...and asked what colour it was. He said with a calm shrug... 'I'm not sure, I packed it at night'.
The Mas family has lost a beautiful human and creative master. Clarence and I will miss him deeply.
